Baffles are vertically suspended from your ceiling. You provide your own thin gauge wire and slip them through the grommets. Standard baffles hang 4' across and 2' up and down. If you want to suspend them 2' across and 4' up/down, please let us know so we can switch the grommet installation for you. Attach them direct to your ceiling, a cable, or exposed ceiling joists with your own hardware. These baffles are light weight and easy to handle.
If your ceiling is exposed joist, the ideal installation is to suspend the baffles to run flush with the bottom of the joist. If your ceiling is finished, keep the baffles a minimum 6' away from any sprinkler heads, supply/return vents and any lighting fixtures.
If your ceiling is pitched at an angle, you can hang the baffles parallel to one another if you wish. However, if your ceiling is flat, parallel to your floor surface, we recommend you stagger the installation of the baffles so that some suspend perpendicular to the rest. This helps prevent the "combing" effect of having sound waves reflect up and down in the room without being intercepted by a baffle.
