A loud workshop in a basement or garage of a home can create unwanted machine noise or dust collection noise that needs to be contained to within the room.   Our sound insulatsion goal is to protect the rest of the house from the noise generated inside the noisy workshop.

Soundproofing Treatment:

Sound barrier products designed to isolate and contain the noise to produce a soundproof workshop are listed in our Product Bin.   The application of this material is featurd in the Walls and Ceilings section of this Appliations Guide.  Your sound proofing treatment options depend on how you intend to frame out and finish the room.   There are also absorption products designed to reduce the amount of exposure held to within the soundproof woodworking room.  

Acoustic Result:

Sound barrier treatments for workshop noise can trigger 10-12 dB drops outside the Workshop.   These results for soundproofing a workshop are simulated in our Sound Chamber for your listening pleasure.   Results will vary per treatment based on coverage, leakage, installation, etc.   Sound pressures held to within the room can also drop 3-6 dB through the use of wall or ceiling absorption material.
