Soundproof Windows

Soundproof Window Challenge:

Glass is both highly reflective and resonant.    These features combine to allow for both the transmission of sound through glass, and the reflection off its surface.     In a room filled with glass windows, our goal is to prevent the noise from bleeding in or out of the room through the window, as well as control the reflections inside that create background noise and contribute to poor room acoustics.

Controlling Sound Bleed Through Windows

Soundproofing Treatment

Your treatment for a sound proof window depends on your objective.    Either to combat the bleed of noise through the window, or control the reflections off the window that decay the acoustic quality in your room.    Both soundproof window treatments are addressed with the acoustical window products contained in our Product Bin.

Acoustic Window Results:

Results for a sound control window treatment will vary depending on your application.   Up to 90% of the unwanted sound bleed through your window can be eliminated with Soundproof Windows installed atop your current windows, or up to 80% of the sound reflection of your window to the interior of your room can be absorbed with SoundElite window blinds.    In either case, window replacement is not required.   Results like these for soundproof windows are simulated in our Sound Chamber.
