Soundproofing a Home Office

Noise Control Challenge:

A home office environment requires protection from noise being generated in the rest of the house.   Our goal with this home office design is to isolate the room acoustically by combating both airborne and structure borne noise trying to bleed in.

Soundproofing Treatment:

Acoustic Result:

Keep in mind that no room that shares common structure with the rest of your house will ever be able to completely eliminate outside noise from transmitting in.    Through doors, windows, pipes, vents, exhaust fans, switch plates and more, these "flanking paths" for home office noise will always serve to deteriorate results.   However, with the proper installation of dB-Bloc, disconnecting your structure, and the use of other sound insulation products, you can reasonably expect a 8-10 dB drop in a loud home office.   Simulated results for soundproofing a home office are broadcast in our Sound Chamber.
