Soundproofing Treatment:

The ideal soundproofing treatment for controlling air conditioner noise is to build a partial enclosure around this stationary noise source.   Start with erecting a frame around the unit, and feed the dimensions of your frame in to our help desk.   The frame can be made out of wood, iron, tubular steel, chain link, or any raw material that can sustain the weight of this treatment.    

We will cut a set of outdoor sound blankets designed to block noise from bleeding through the sound blanket treatment.   Apply the blankets to the frame using the grommets and seams we will apply.   Treat only those sides or top of the frame that separate the noise from those you seek to protect.   Leave the rest exposed for ventilation.    Then landscape around the frame as desired if you want to disguise the blankets.   The sound blankets are featured in our Product Bin.

Acoustic Results:

The blankets will trigger an average 10-12 dB drop for a loud air conditioner.   Simulated results for soundproofing an air conditioner are broadcast in our Sound Chamber.   This could represent a reduction of up to 90% of your unwanted noise.   Results will vary for soundproofing an air conditioner, depending on leakage and how partial the enclosure is.   Be sure to build the frame a good 18-24" away from the unit allowing it to breathe.
